Why a physical lab

Prototypes before proposals

Most advisory work has no cost of being wrong. A slide that doesn't survive contact with reality is still a slide that got paid for. We wanted the opposite: a place where our ideas have to run before we recommend them.

The lab gives us that. Anything involving hardware — a camera, an arm, a sensor, a vehicle — gets built and tested here first. Anything purely digital gets built against real data and real latency on the Edge platform. Either way, by the time a recommendation reaches you it has already been made to work at least once.

It also changes who you get. The engineers who write your monthly report are the same people who spent last week getting a frontier model to run on-device at the bench. That's the difference between reading about the frontier and standing on it.
